Now he acts.

Leaving his hole-in-the wall,
venturing out into the unknown,
wondering if she will meet him on the other side.

Hoping - praying - for his safety.

Struggling through the waves of people,
trampling over anything in his way,
desolation, desperation entangle him in their claws.

Hoping - praying - for her safety.

Boarding the train,
picking flowers off the bushes
as they fly by.

Hoping - praying - for their safety.

Waiting, aching, wondering.
Time stands still - the train stops.
She stands in the sea of people waiting with their child.

Knowing - confident - in their safety.
