Ha Derech Re'ikah

~Mulder POV~

I thought she'd refuse - I was sure she'd refuse. But she didn't. She stood up for me and the 
doctor didn't object. Scully's full of surprises and I'm thankful for this one. 

Anxiousness and hope are the most prevalent feelings now...the test results come back any 
minute. Scully sent her family away, telling them she'd call them when the test results came in. 
I don't know what I would have done if she'd sent me away too. I'd go crazy sitting and waiting
without her.

I draw strength and courage from her as she does from me, and together, we wait for the doctor
to return. Whether the news is good or bad, we'll stand together.

Scully's face lightens and a joyous laugh escapes her lips as she listens to the doctors words.

"It's amazing. We've never seen anything like it!" he exclaims.

I smile as well when I finally understand. Scully's cancer is in remission.
